Senior Vice President

Bill Stankevitz

Bill has been with Crum-Halsted since 2011 but has been in the insurance industry since 1965.  He is a licensed producer in both Illinois and Michigan, a former IIA Fair Trade Practices Chairman, former co-chair of the Illinois Market Assistance Program, former President of St. Vincent de Paul Society in Batavia, and a founding member of the Colorado Captive Insurance Association.  Due to his decades of experience and uncanny memory for details, we commonly refer to Bill as our in house insurance encyclopedia.  Not only does he help educate our younger agents, he also specializes in healthcare – medical malpractice coverage, self-insurance/captives, due diligence consulting for mergers & acquisitions, international large manufacturing, and public entities.  As for his community involvement, Bill is an active member at St. Catherine of Genoa, a Chaplain of Knights of Columbus, a former Kane County CASA/Guardian ad Litem, and a former Scoutmaster.  Bill is an information junky so he’s constantly reading any newspaper he can get his hands on as well as any topical information on insurance specific items.  As a former Scoutmaster his personal motto is “Be Prepared” and he is full of endless information and stories.  When asked about the craziest thing he’s ever done, he regaled us with his story of getting caught in a snowstorm in a Colorado ghost town above the tree line when he had to chain up the tires and drive out on a rough jeep trail to get to safety.
